Interface administrators[ ]

Interface administrators are trusted members of WikiProducers with special technical permissions to edit the site’s interface, including pages in the MediaWiki namespace, site-wide CSS, and JavaScript files.

Responsibilities[ ]

  • Customizing the look and feel of WikiProducers through CSS.
  • Adding, modifying, or removing JavaScript that affects the wiki’s functionality.
  • Maintaining templates, modules, and gadgets used across the site.
  • Ensuring all interface changes are secure, functional, and consistent with WikiProducers branding.

Why this role is important[ ]

Interface administrators control changes that affect how the site works for all users. This requires:

  • Advanced technical skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MediaWiki markup.
  • A clear understanding of accessibility and usability best practices.
  • A commitment to security, avoiding code that could expose user data or harm the wiki.

Selection[ ]

Only highly trusted members are granted interface administrator rights, usually after:

  • Significant technical contributions to the wiki.
  • Demonstrated expertise in MediaWiki customization.
  • Approval from Bureaucrats or site founders.

Caution[ ]

Edits made by interface administrators have site-wide impact. Any changes to core scripts or styles should be tested and documented before deployment.

Contact[ ]

If you encounter a technical issue or wish to suggest an interface improvement, please contact an Interface Administrator listed on this page or leave a request at WikiProducers:Technical support.
